Duck Tub!

I did it! I bought the somewhat tacky duck tub! However, I love it, and so does Kayleigh! She went in it this evening and was just chillin out and relaxin while I was washing her! Too cute! And on top of it, every time I squeezed the duck's beak it quacked and Kayleigh giggled :) A great purchase on my behalf! However, once my dad walked in and saw her in it, his reply was "I'm sorry to say this but I think she might outgrow this in a day too!" I laughed because sadly I know it's the truth :) My little baby is soooo LONG!!!!!!!!!!!! :) Quack Quack!

Hawaiin Tropic Baby!

So Kayleigh received this uber cute Hawaiin sun dress and shockingly enough it's size 12 months and fits her perfectly! Surprised? No not at all! She reminds me of a little Hawaiin girl! All she needs now is the beach in the background and some homemade kid volcanoes!

Swim Team Here I Come!

I'm starting her off early!!! Getting all pool ready and even swimming in her floatie at 4 months!!! Such a cutie pie!

Bath time!

So, I have been having a difficult time putting kayleigh down to sleep at an early time. For any new mother/father who never had to work at it, I HATE YOU!!!! Man this is something they never told you when you were pregnant, how difficult it is to get your baby to sleep at an early time and for the entire night! So we have been working on doing a new and earlier nigh time routine. This one that we are trying, she starts her bath at 7:30 then we do a massage, then nurse, and singing and book reading. It's been working for a while (fingers crossed)

Kayleigh was at the doctor's last week for her 4 month check up! (her 4 month birthday was July 10th) Kayleigh is now over double her birth weight at 17.5 lbs, and 27 1/4 inches long!!!! The doctor referred to her as "a giant of a baby!" He said she is doing wonderful and could start eating rice cereal and stage one foods. However, Kayleigh has not been doing well with the rice cereal, I even tried it with some applesauce. So, I am coming to the conclusion that just because she is over 95% percentile in height and weight, she is still not mature enough to eat foods, so for now we are quitting and we will revisit again in a couple of weeks :)
Here are some pictures as we were getting ready for the bath!! I'll post our professional ones tomorrow!

one more video of the 4th!

more 4th pictures and videos!

4th of July!

Kayleigh's first 4th of July! I had her dressed in a navy blue and white striped dress that I picked out when I was 9 months pregnant, and it fit her perfectly! While I was dressing her I got a little teary eyed and overwhelmed. This dress was one of the first dresses that I bought for her before she was born and at the time I couldn't imagine her being in it. So when I dressed her and saw how beautiful she was I got a little choked up. I love you Kayleigh and your beauty and love has changed me soo much, thank you for always reminding me how lucky I am to have you!

Okay enough with my sappy side :) Back to the 4th! Kayleigh loved the fireworks and was wide eyed and alert during the entire 45 minute show! I was soo proud of her, even at the finale when the fireworks got really loud, she didn't even cry! Such a big girl! Overall, it was a wonderful day and night and can't wait for all the future 4th of July's that we will share together.

Lee Graham

So yesterday Brannon invited us to go to her pool, Lee Graham. Even though, they are a rival of Cardinal Hill we still decided to go there for the afternoon :) Unfortunately, we got there a little late and we weren't able to hang out too long with Ava and Lauren. The water was too cold for Kayleigh so instead of bringing her in, Brannon, Amber, and I made Kayleigh a little tent where she napped so we could go in the pool for a while!

Grandma came to the pool with me!

On Saturday Grandma wanted to go to the pool with me! It was my second time going inside of the pool, and I loved it!! Mommy took me into the medium pool and the baby pool. I really like the baby pool because it's not very deep! The water was a perfect temperature and I was able to soak for about 20 minutes! Then mommy and me took a nap! Isn't my bathing suit fun?

tummy time!

She was picking her head up at 12 weeks old!!

Bath time video!

Abba loves his granddaughters!

Dad just loves Kayleigh and it really is precious to see him interact with her! He does some baby coos and sounds that always make Kayleigh alert and happy! She loves when he comes to hold her, eventhough she doesn't look too happy in these pictures (she was hungry :) My dad and her have a really special bond! So does my dad with Mia as you can see :)

bath time=kayleigh's favorite time!

From the first time I gave Kayleigh a bath she loved it! Something about the warm water reminds babies from when they are in the womb, and they just LOVE them! Kayleigh could literally spend 45 minutes in the bath and not say a pip! It is such a fun part of our nighttime routine, because she totally relaxes and enjoys every moment of it. She even likes laying on her stomach which is usually a hard thing to get her to do. I usually get her excited by saying "Kayleigh is bathy bathy time! Time for our warm bathy!" She literally loves it, it is soo cute!

Headbands!

So I am totally obsessed with baby headbands! I think they are absolutely adorable, and of course Kayleigh looks soo cute in all of them, so I keep buying more! I get some comments from my family members about them, but I don't care I know she looks precious in them!

Beachin it

I know I haven't blogged in over a week! Well Kayleigh and I took our first visit to the beach last week, and we did not have internet service! However, despite the weather, we were in good company with Brannon and Amber! We did lots of shopping and touring around instead of the beach. The outlets were of course amazing, however, I did control myself, and managed to come out of there with only a couple of items. The best/biggest surprise was Kayleigh! She did a 3/4 roll while she was on her tummy Tuesday night! It was soo exciting to see her try to figure out what she needed to do to get to the WhoozeIt! Amber instigated it, and Brannon and I kept clapping and encouraging her :) I'm soo proud of my little baby cakes! Here are some pictures of our trip. Obviously I had to include Starboard :)

Lazzzy Day

So today Kayleigh and I woke up late and just hung out with Lauren, baby Ava, and Brannon.. Just one of those days where we didn't feel like leaving the house! However, Kayleigh did get her new headbands in the mail :) They are SUPER cute!!! Here is a picture of one that looks adorable on her!! Kayleigh has been talking all day, I swear each day she does something totally new! She loves to hear her own voice and has been cooing and awwing all day :) Yesterday was her 3 month birthday! We had a fun day at the mall and spending time with friends! I can't believe 3 months have already passed, she's growing soo quickly. PS check out her hot sneaker socks curtosy of aunt marisa!!

mia and kayleigh in the crib!

This is toooo cute!

Pool Day!

Kayleigh and I had a great time at the pool yesterday, however, stupid me forgot to bring her infant seat (a vibrating awesome seat) so I was holding her the whole time (verrrry tiring and hot!) But she did get to meet lots of new people and likes all the sounds at the pool. Uncle David tried to get her in the pool but the minute her foot touched that water she screamed and she was soo scared. The water was waay to cold, but leave it to an uncle to try and make a baby believe it's not :) Here is our picture with Mia- Mia had a blast and kept showing Kayleigh how to put her head in the water and swim freestyle!

She is taking a nap now- let's see how long she'll nap at the pool with all the screaming children in the background :)

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

So today is the first day of adding a post to my blog! If anyone really knows me, they know that I am a bit of a procrastinator. I know myslef, and I know that if I didn't start this blog I would never get around to writing things down in Kayleigh's baby book! So my goal is to write at least 3 posts a week so one day Kayleigh can look back and read all of her funny, sad, embarassing, cute, and adorable moments in her baby years!

I will begin with our first adventure as mommy and baby. Kayleigh was born March 10th at 8:02 pm- my labor lasted 22 hours!! (Yes you read that right!) Very long and painful, but she was totally worth every contraction and hour. I will never forget that unbelievable feeling that I had the first time I saw Kayleigh. She brought tears to my eyes and a new transcendental kind of love came over me. I remember thinking WOW there's my baby, there she is!! She was everything I imagined her to be, she was perfect! Kayleigh is my miracle, and my life. It's so funny because when you are pregnant you can't ever imagine your life with a baby, but the minute you have your baby and you are holding her in your arms, you can't ever imagine your life without her! I recently received a card from a friend that read "God is so good at miracles." And I couldn't have agreed more! A baby truly is the most unbelievable miracle! So my beautiful baby, this is my promise to you- I promise you my everlasting love. I promise you a wonderful life full of laughter, happiness, and love. I promise you that I will be a caring, understanding, and loving mother. I promise, you will always be number one in my heart and life. I promise that I will watch you grow and help you through every stage of life. I promise that all these promises will ALWAYS be kept. You are my beautiful angel baby. Mommy is always here. I love you baby, love Mommy.
